Ríkislögreglustjóri hefur nú lýst yfir óvissustigi almannavarna fyrir allt landið vegna óveðursins . Ákvörðunin er tekin í samráði við alla lögreglustjóra landsins og í samræmi við veðurspá Veðurstofu Íslands, sem spáir aftakaveðri með appelsínugulum veðurviðvörunum um allt land.

Óvissustigi er lýst yfir þegar grunur vaknar um að eitthvað geti gerst af náttúru- eða mannavöldum, sem á síðari stigum gæti leitt til þess að heilsu og öryggi fólks, umhverfis eða byggðar er ógnað. Samráð á milli almannavarna og þeirra stofnana sem málið varðar er aukið.

Uncertainty phase/level is characterized by an event which has already started and could lead to a threat to people, communities or the environment. At this stage collaboration and coordination is elevated between the Civil Protection Authorities and stakeholders.
